Rev. Justin William Nick was appointed to Gaskins Chapel AME on April 23, 2021.
Justin W. Nick is the Pastor of Gaskins Chapel AME in Melfa, Virginia, and co-owner of Nick & Neal Bakery
Justin was educated in the Anne Arundel County School System, but Justin’s most influential education was received at the private Christian academy, Book of Life Academy. In the academy, Justin learned how to recite scripture, understand the Bible, and how to write. He is a graduate of Albright College in Reading, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Religious Studies. Justin is also recently graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary where he specialized in African American Church Studies and was President of the Association of Black Seminarians. Justin’s education, though not all religious, provides him with the ability to see the biblical text from different vantage points which provide him with interesting interpretations.
His favorite scripture is Psalm 119: 9-10: “How can young people keep their way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10: With my whole heart I seek you; do not let me stray from your commandments”—and his motto is “If I can help somebody as I travel along, just ask me and you’ll get none other than Justin Nick, a servant of God.”
Pastor Nick graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC with a specialization in African American Church Studies
